July
2005 - News
Sorry
about the lack of action on the site, I have not been able to attend
to it.I will be able to update it myself as soon as I can overcome
my techno phobia.
As
some of you may know, there is a new record coming. Pin's input in
the last couple of years has been invaluable here and may lead to
a signature model in the future.

July
2005 - Snakewood
Another
hideously expensive log has been tracked down and split after the sale
of my pride and joy. There will be a small photo journal.

June
2005 - Download 2005
2nd

year.

Hello!!!!! |

Mastodon
I
have been on the phone to Tim Mills, guru at Bareknuckle and he has
built me some humbuckers. They have been the most popular request
in 2005, and with good reason - they are truly outstanding.

Blackmachine
is also proud to announce the addition of Lundgren Pickups to its
list of options - meaning that the model M 7 and 8 string pickups
will be available.
Guitar
Show 2005 May 6,7,8 Wembley Exhibition Center. Diezel heads and cab
and a few guitars. A chance to try 8 strings and the most intense
amps currently made, not the kind of thing most people do everyday.
Given a written warning and threat of disconnection for being too
loud on Sunday. Rock and roll!

April
2005 - F2, Floyd rose coming?
Most
have reliability issues at some time or another and you need a toolkit
to change the strings but....50% of you have asked for one. Congratulate
yourselves for the tide of email has succeeded. It all revolves around
a custom made sustain block. Watch this space..

James
Leader and myself have become the official distributor for Diezel Amplification
in the UK. We will be taking care of new Diezel customers here including
basic warranty and servicing. Some of you who might have tried these
amps at the London Guitar Show will know they are the real thing, and
that against the boogie there is no contest. You will be able to order
direct from us, or later through your local retailer.
January 2005 NAMM Show 2005 and Hollywood
An
impromptu appearance of blackmachine on the Salwender/Diezel stand
at NAMM attracted some interested players..an amazing place, indeed
there is nothing like it.

This chap is one of the most amazing players I have ever seen - his
name is Nick Sterling, and he's 14. Makes you sick.<nick sterling>
Went to the Viper Rooms and saw some bands, including Rob Balducci.
January
2005 - 8 string project
I
used two 8mm ebony fillets and the usual super hard Honduras Rosewood.
Single truss rod, just like the others. Fears about increased tension
proved unfounded. Neck profile has been altered with a reduced shoulder
making it feel much smaller, needed with a 55mm nut. 6 small screws
instead of 5 large ones. EMG 40CS.

See
article. The
8 string project in depth
Guitarist
will be publishing a review of a one off snakewood B2, with some nice
photos, much nicer than mine. Also watch out for a review of the Diezel
VH4.
8
string Baritone guitar prototype up and running.

Pickups
custom made in Germany with ebony bobbins.
30"
/ 762-mm scale.
Tuning
half step down: Eflat to Eflat, low B flat, low F. Gauges 9-46,Â
60, 80.
Swamp
Ash Body 10mm up from the normal 30mm at 40mm to help balance and
low frequencies. Cutaway moved back 10mm to shorten overall.
7piece
laminated birdseye maple neck with two removable, reversible truss
rods.
Weighs
maybe a bit less than Les Paul despite its size.
I
thought this guitar might lack definition on the low strings. I need
not have worried. The 30" scale gives far greater definition
than any conventional guitar and increased sustain. Open and piano
like clarity when clean, like a super tight chainsaw when dirty. Increased
scale length leads to more bottom and top end so I will rewind the
bridge pickup to punch up the mids slightly. Sonically this instrument
has some really surprising, unique characteristics. Summed up I'd
say it had the clarity and top end of a single coiled instrument yet
the character of the humbuckers installed. Wierd but extremely pleasant.
I haven't put it down since it was built but it will need a few months
development to unleash the full potential of this instrument.

in the UK feel free to email me..
